Battle Round Week One-Christina Aguilera vs. Britney Spears?
Simon Cowell is livid with NBC after the network announced today that they will be airing an additional evening of “The Voice” next week.
Cowell is furious because the extra evening is on Wednesday September 12th which is the same night the “X-Factor” premieres. Now Cowell has brought Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera’s names into his feud with NBC and “The Voice.”
Cowell is concerned that Britney will be “devastated” up against Christina. He told TMZ that he reportedly had a “gentleman’s agreement” that his show would air on Wednesday’s and Thursdays, and that the “The Voice” would air on Mondays and Tuesdays.
“This is a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business,” Cowell told TMZ. He maintains that Christina and Britney are now going to be pitted against each other.
Well-known television producer Mark Burnett and executive producer of “The Voice” commented on Cowell’s allegations. Burnett reported to TMZ, “This is someone trying to read into something that doesn't exist.”
Unfortunately for Cowell, Britney may not like this negative attention. Cowell burned his new fellow judge by putting her on the spot in his tantrum with “The Voice.” It will be interesting to see how both Ms. Aguilera and Ms. Spears comment on this issue.
The battle round for the first week of the network’s premiere shows is not between Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears but rather Simon Cowell and NBC.
